Langerbrugge Mill produces paper based on 100% recycled fibre 

Stora Enso Langerbrugge N.V., situated in the harbour of Ghent, produces yearly 555.000 tons of newsprint and uncoated magazine paper.  In addition to continuous product improvement, Stora Enso Langerbrugge also focuses on recycling and the development of renewable energy.  Today, newsprint and uncoated magazine paper are produced with 100% recycled fibre.  Energy production on site is based on the incineration of biomass.

Our paper cycle, a closed ecological system

Waste paper is collected, sorted and de-inked.  The recycled fibres are used as raw materials for the production of paper.  The sludge from the water treatment and de-inking, together with waste wood, are used to fire the power plant.  This generates part of the mills electricity and steam requirement.  The paper produced, is sold to publishers and printers who print newspapers and magazines.  Readers return their old newspapers and magazines via waste paper collections, thus completing the ecological circle.
