Stora Enso second in sustainability reporting

Stora Enso was ranked second in reporting on the environment, ethics and social responsibility in consultancy firm Deloitte’s yearly evaluation published in November. The survey found that Stora Enso reports in a clear way.

The evaluation included 25 listed companies and compared how well firms inform about sustainability related issues in their annual reports. The top six companies, in order of performance were SAS, Stora Enso, Trelleborg, Holmen, Royal Dutch Shell and ABB.

Stora Enso’s reporting clear
The survey found that Stora Enso reports on environmental issues and related measures in a clear way. Stora Enso was praised for reporting key environmental data separately for each mill. Stora Enso also got credit for its approach to stakeholder dialogue and reporting the stakeholders’ main areas of interest with regard to sustainability issues. Furthermore it was emphasized that the Stora Enso sustainability report has been verified by an independent party based on AccountAbility’s AA1000 Assurance Standards.

Fifteen years of continuous assessment
The purpose of Deloitte’s annual evaluation is to continuously map out the development of reporting on the environment, ethics and social responsibility issues and to identify and show examples of best practices. This year was the 15th year in a row that Deloitte conducts the evaluation.
