Welcome to Arapoti Mill
Located in the south of Brazil, in the state of Paraná, 700 km from Brasilia and 450 km from São Paulo city, Arapoti Mill is the only LWC paper producer in South America.
With its 370 employees, Arapoti has a total capacity of 200 000 tonnes per year, approximately 75% of which is sold in the domestic market.
Arapoti Mill has one highly efficient paper machine and one off-machine coater. The production line started up in 1992 and produces approx. 200 000 tonnes per year of high-quality LWC (Light-Weight-Coated) paper for HSWO and Gravure printing. The finished basis weights range from 54 g/m² to 90 g/m².
Two sources of fibre are used at Arapoti. A TMP plant produces pulp from eucalyptus and pine trees that are grown on plantations near the mill. The second source of fibre is kraft chemical pulp purchased mainly from Argentina and Chile.
As the Group’s first paper mill in South America, Arapoti represents a further link in the worldwide chain of Stora Enso production facilities.
