Stora Enso’s Trainee Programme, GROW, is about strengthening our pool of future leaders across the organisation and tackling the Group's challenging demographic profile. In 2013, we chose 22 trainees from 2 700 applicants. The trainees are all recent graduates and for most trainees Stora Enso is their first permanent employer.
We chose 14 engineers and 8 persons with a business background, we have an equal split between men and women, and they represent 8 different nationalities. This diversity underlines our effort to bring in diversity of thought into Stora Enso and every group and team that we put together to drive change.
The trainees started their 18-month leadership journey in September 2013. During the programme the trainees will:
be introduced to Stora Enso and meet our top leaders;
participate in a leadership training program at a top-ranked business school in Switzerland - International Institute for Management Development (IMD);
go on a 3-month assignment abroad;
have opportunity for volunteer work home or abroad;
benefit from one-on-one mentorship with a Stora Enso top talents
The 22 new recruits share their 18-month trainee journey in Stora Enso in this blog. I hope you enjoy following their journey!
