CDM – Controlled Delamination Materials
CDM is Stora Enso’s new technology developed for the consumer packaging and supply chain distribution industries. CDM securely holds items together and release them on demand using a small electric current. This technology provides abundant opportunities to improve packaging and distribution solutions and can assist organisations attain their environmental & sustainable targets.
There are two main products originating from the CDM technology, a laminate for consumer packaging and a hot melt adhesive for the supply chain distribution industry.
CDM Laminate “Sinuate®”
Putting the Customer first. Specifically designed for the welded clamshell packaging market this product renders the notoriously difficult to open clamshell easy to open at checkout without compromising theft or tamper properties.
CDM Hot Melt Adhesive
With the global drive to reduce and optimise the use of packaging Stora Enso has innovatively responded with the development of a CDM hot melt adhesive. This adhesive can securely hold items together from the factory gate to the retail shelf with minimal secondary transport packaging.
CDM Centre for cooperation
The purpose of the CDM Centre is to develop the technology further and provide training and information on the technology. We welcome retailers and brand owners, as well as technology and packaging suppliers and academic research community to participate in the development of CDM applications.
