Stora Enso invests for the future in the FIS Nordic World Ski Championships 2015 – becomes a principal sponsor 

Falun was awarded the FIS Nordic World Ski Championships 2015 and Stora Enso will be a key partner in implementing the event.

“We believe the World Ski Championships in Falun will be incredibly positive for Dalarna and Sweden. We want to be part of this and play our part in making this a successful and responsible event by becoming one of the principal sponsors. 200 000 visitors and 500 million television viewers will see the World Ski Championships, thus making it a key arena providing an opportunity to raise our stakeholders’ awareness of Stora Enso as the global rethinker of the paper, biomaterials, wood products and packaging industry,” says Mats Nordlander, Country Manager Sweden, Stora Enso.

Stora Enso has a longstanding tradition of collaboration with the World Ski Championships in Falun. “This is a tradition I want to nurture and, in parallel, develop by rethinking how we engage with our stakeholders, such as, customers, suppliers and employees,” says Jonas Nordlund, Director, Communications in Sweden for Stora Enso.

Stora Enso is one of the founders of the Beyond Skiing 2015 Foundation, a co-operative association of companies and organisations that are supporting and developing the World Championship project. In addition to this partnership, Stora Enso has signed an agreement with the European Broadcasting Union (EBU) and its exclusive sales agent Tridem Sports to be a principal sponsor of the Nordic World Ski Championships 2015.
