STORA ENSO OYJ STOCK EXCHANGE RELEASE 22 October 2008 at 14.30 GMT
Stora Enso Oyj today received the following notification with reference to
Chapter 2, paragraph 9 of the Finnish Securities Markets Act:
The Finnish State and Solidium Oy give notice of a transaction as a result of
which the shareholding of the Finnish State would decrease below and the
shareholding of Solidium Oy would exceed the shareholding limits defined in
Chapter 2, paragraph 9 of the Finnish Securities Markets Act. The Council of
State has decided to propose to Parliament that the shares in Stora Enso Oyj
owned by the Finnish State be transferred to Solidium Oy, wholly owned by the
State. The transaction will be implemented if Parliament approves this proposal
by the Council of State.
With reference to Chapter 2, paragraph 10 of the Finnish Securities Markets Act,
Stora Enso Oyj is reporting that the shareholding of Solidium Oy will be as
follows if the transaction is implemented:
