Biomaterials

Where the story begins.
Stora Enso Biomaterials offers a variety of pulp grades to meet the demands of paper, board and tissue producers. Pulp is an excellent raw material: it is made from renewable resources in a sustainable manner and has many different applications.
Our product range covers both long and short fibres, including Northern Bleached Softwood Kraft and Bleached Hardwood Kraft pulp (Birch and Eucalyptus), for printing and writing (CWF & UWF), specialties as well as for graphic papers, packaging , paperboards and tissue.
The fluff pulp that we produce is primarily used in diapers and other hygiene products. Our dissolving pulp goes to the textile industry. The wide variety of our product range offers our customers solutions for the different fibre needs from just one point of contact.
All our pulp grades come from sustainable sources. Stora Enso has set ambitious goals for its sustainability performance, both on environmental and social aspects, having received international recognition for its work. We know the origin of the wood that we use and want to enhance open dialogue with all our stakeholders in the areas where we operate.
How was this new Business Area born?
(JC.Bueno, Executive Vice President, Stora Enso Biomaterials)
"People living on this earth need new solutions to raw materials and how we use our natural resources. The World faces a lot of challenges: population growth, the need for renewable energy as well as for lighter and safer materials, just to name some. We need to do more with less and do it in a sustainable way."
Why ”Biomaterials”?
"We decided to form this new Business Area exactly at this moment as we have a lot of growth opportunities ahead of us. We named it Biomaterials because we believe in the transformation and evolution of our business. We believe in the development of revolutionary technologies that will get the most out of the renewable natural resources. We formed this new Business Area as we want to take the driver´s seat in this transformation."
