Build a house in just two days!
This is more or less possible – at least a skeleton of a family house can be built just in one to two days thanks to CLT products.
CLT stands for Cross Laminated Timber and it is used in the construction of residential houses and, to a lesser extent, for industrial constructions. CLT is mostly used for loadbearing and stiffened exterior and interior walls, ceilings and roof elements. The prefabricated elements with ready-made openings for windows, doors and cable ducts are delivered directly from the factory to the building site.
CLT has many advantages compared with traditional building methods. It is extremely versatile and perfectly combinable with other construction materials. Simple on-site processing, minimum construction and assembly time, and good insulation properties are some main features of this new product.
CLT, which is unique in terms of material characteristics and efficiency, opens up new possibilities in timber construction.
The production of CLT elements started at Bad St. Leonhard new site in Austria in January, and the opening ceremony was held on 30 May. The elements can have a length of up to 16 m and a width of up to 2.95 m and they can be up to 40 cm thick. The annual CLT production capacity of the new mill is 65 000 m3.
