KVH far more than just a product
Quality above the standard, plus the right Marketing and Logistic Concepts, have been the foundation of continuing KVH success.
Ever since people began to construct timber buildings, it has been possible without solid timber like KVH products. Why then has their use increased enormously since the middle of the 1990s, especially in Central Europe?
The success story started with a set of focused marketing activities in the mid-1990s., in cooperation with our competitors to combine under one name a growing range of timber products - the Überwachungsgemeinschaft für Konstruktionsvollholz e.V., http://www.kvh.de (in German) was founded.
The result is a clearly defined product, with known, consistent and highly quality standards. The range of possible cross sections is from 60 x 100 mm to 140 x 240 mm, and in some cases even up to 280 mm in height. If KVH is glued two or three times to form DUO/TRIO-Beams, then the same options are available, but up to 240x280 mm. These products are available in a range of lengths of up to 16 m.
We therefore created two different factory concepts. The mill in Pfarrkirchen produces KVH products, individually specified by customers, while the mill in Zdirec (http://www.storaenso.com/zdirec) keeps a stock of KVH finished products with standard cross sections, available at "short notice"
About 50 % of the total volume remains in Germany, also Austria, Italy, Holland, France, Switzerland, Czech Republic and Spain are important. They have all come to understand the advantages of KVH during the last few years - and increasingly they are making the most of these advantages.
