Stora Enso supporting start-up of newspaper presses 

VLT Press prints about five million local and regional newspapers a week at their printing shop in Central Sweden.

To ensure a trouble-free start-up of the presses VLT Press formed a Technical Group of five sub-contractors in which Stora Enso Kvarnsveden was one of the members and with support from the Research Centres.

Paper, ink, mechanics, water and size – these are the input materials that have to work optimally together. Instead of discussing technical issues with one supplier at a time, VLT Press brought them all in at the same time to discuss the process together.

The Technical Group were able to take advantage of Stora Enso’s experience from other, similar installations and carried out tests at the Falun Research Centre's well-equipped laboratory.
