Fatal accident at Launkalne Sawmill

On 9 November, an employee at Launkalne Sawmill in Latvia died from injuries sustained from a fall at the log sorting line. A full incident investigation is being conducted by the Latvian State Labour Inspectorate and will be followed up by Stora Enso. Based on the investigation results, appropriate actions will be taken to improve safety performance.

This was the second fatal accident in Stora Enso in 2006, both of the accidents happening in the Forest Products Division. Safety remains a priority for Stora Enso worldwide.
