Multinational EMAS pilot − Wood Supply launches its first verified environmental statement

Stora Enso Wood Supply has published its first environmental statement, which has been verified. The statement covers Wood Supply's five European Business Units in 2005 and it has been prepared in line with the EMAS regulation.

The environmental statement is a pilot project, which demonstrates environmental reporting practice in an internationally operating company. The pilot is expected to contribute to the review of the European EMAS regulation so that multinational statements could be registered by EMAS in the future. The current EMAS regulation is based on national registrations.
