Product safety systems 

Stora Enso has mills that produce consumer board which comes into direct contact with food and pharmaceuticals. Therefore it is necessary to have hygiene management and product safety systems in place.   

Product safety systems cover the whole manufacturing process from the procurement of raw materials and the production of food packaging material to the delivery of the end products. They involve third-party verification to guarantee that packaging materials, and especially direct food packaging materials, meet all the relevant demands and regulations on consumer and food safety throughout the whole production chain.
