Stora Enso’s Internal Audit has recently discovered working hour recording errors in Stora Enso's China Packaging operations. Employees have been paid for overtime hours as bonus, not on monthly payroll. This practice has aimed at hiding overtime hours exceeding customer requirements and possibly the standards set by Chinese law.
Incorrect recording of overtime is a serious breach of Stora Enso's Code of Conduct
, and we are investigating the case thoroughly in cooperation with an external lawfirm. We have also made detailed action plans to correct the errors immediately as well as long term actions to ensure future full compliance with applicable overtime requirements.
