Stora Enso Wood Supply Finland is responsible for wood procurement in Finland. Totalling about 18 million m
3 annually, the wood is supplied to Stora Enso’s mills in Finland. More than half of the volume is obtained from privately owned forests.
In wood procurement, Wood Supply Finland’s employees and contractors have access to the latest technology. Felling and transport are optimised with the help of information systems, in order to be able to harvest the wood to the highest standards, and to transport it to the sawmills, pulp and paper mills as efficiently and environmentally friendly as possible.
Wood Supply Finland has some 630 employees and 400 partnering contractors. The area of operation is divided into four regions. A region is made up by 6–7 teams, each with an average of ten forestry professionals who offer diverse and expert services in wood purchasing and consultation.
Wood Supply Finland wants to be a reliable partner in wood trade. Our work is based on long-term purchase agreements with private forest owners, the Finnish state as well as small and medium-sized sawmills.
