Wood Supply US

Stora Enso  Wood Supply U.S. conducts the wood procurement function for the U.S. mills located in Wisconsin Rapids, Biron, Whiting and Niagara, Wisconsin, and in Duluth, Minnesota. This includes the acquisition and administration of purchased private and public stumpage, along with the administration of all pulpwood and outside service contracts.  On an annual basis, this unit procures wood totaling approximately 1.3 million cords.

Wood Supply U.S. is committed to fully implementing our mission and vision.  We meet with the public to discuss our forest management practices and wood procurement activities as well as issues of concern. Our stumpage buyers assist forest owners in sustainable forestry management practices. They also provide guidance to ensure timber harvesting meets the needs of each forestland owner. To obtain more information, call toll-free 1-866-735-5966.

The American Forest and Paper Association’s Sustainable Forestry Initiative® (SFI) and our Environmental Management System (EMS) guide all of our activities.  Our EMS was granted ISO 14001 certification in 2002. Our wood procurement practices and procedures are third-party certified by the SFI and FSC for Chain of Custody and Forest Management. These are voluntary programs that we have implemented as part of our values.
