Stora Enso Wood Products has signed an agreement with Lakea to deliver wooden modules for a multi-storey house being built in Seinäjoki, Finland for Housing Fair 2016.
The house called Mäihä will include 28 apartments. "We will build the modules for the apartments in our unit in Hartola. This means that the modules already include the kitchen equipment, wardrobes etc. when transported to Seinäjoki. Modular construction is a fast, safe and efficient way of building and the house will be ready in mid-June 2016," says Petri Perttula, Head of Building Solutions at Stora Enso.
Developing wooden constructions is a focus area for both Stora Enso and Lakea, knowledge and experience that will be being presented and shared at the Housing Fair 2016. The fair is a yearly event hosted by different cities in Finland. In 2015 the fair in Vantaa had over 130 000 visitors.
The main designer for Mäihä is Markku Hedman / Arkkitehdit A-Live.
