Innovating with our customers

Late last year, Stora Enso inaugurated innovation centres to strengthen customer cooperation and drive development and innovation in packaging and biomaterials. They have been off to a good start.

The Innovation Centre for biomaterials is in a build-up phase, and hosts research, application, business development and strategic marketing under one roof. The centre will help to boost innovation by identifying business opportunities in the markets for renewable materials and bio-based chemicals. Stora Enso will work with leading research centres, universities and business partners. By the end of the year, the centre will host about 100 employees and a state-of-the art laboratory.

The purpose of the Innovation Centre for packaging is to create a venue for innovation and R&D work, where Stora Enso together with customers and other stakeholders can develop innovative and sustainable packaging concepts. The centre offers, among other things, a packaging design lab and virtual reality retail technology. The interest from customers and brand owners has been strong.
