The residential scheme, Trafalgar place, where two apartment buildings are built with CLT (Cross Laminated Timber) by Stora Enso has been awarded with "the best new place to live" and the "mayor's award for planning excellence" in London Planning Awards ceremony held in February.

Trafalgar Place is the first phase of Lend Lease's overall Elephant and Castle regeneration and comprises seven apartment buildings, two of which are constructed from CLT, providing 235 high quality homes in total.

The Mayor of London, Boris Johnson MP, said of the winning scheme:
"Top quality creative planning is absolutely crucial if London is to continue to be the best city in the world to live, and work and visit. Congratulations to the winners who are leading the way in innovative design to ensure we are creating the homes, offices, open spaces and cultural venues that are not only attractive to our communities, but will stand the test of time.
