Australia's first wooden office building will be built with Stora Enso CLT (Cross Laminated Timber). An office building called International House Sydney, located at Barangaroo, Sydney will be built by Lendlease. The major structural components of the 6-storey office with almost 8000 m2 are made from more than 2000 m³ of CLT, produced at Stora Enso's Ybbs unit in Austria.

"We see this project as a great continuum of our cooperation with Lendlease in Australia. Our previous joint project, Library at the Dock in Melbourne have been recognized and awarded for its design as well as its sustainability factors", comments Petri Perttula, Head of Stora Enso Building Solutions. "Our efficient logistics ensures smooth deliveries from Austria to Australia where we also have a good presence through our own sales and distribution network."

The construction of the building started in April 2016 and is due for completion in 2017. In addition to fast construction time, using CLT, made of renewable and climate-beneficial wood, is a sustainable choice.

CLT by Stora Enso is produced in Ybbs and Bad St. Leonhard units in Austria. Wood for CLT is supplied through Stora Enso's own wood sourcing organisation in order to guarantee the best possible quality, sustainable sources and third party verified wood origin. All raw material flows for CLT manufacturing are covered with PEFC™ Chain of Custody certification.

Barangaroo is Sydney's largest urban renewal project since the 2000 Olympics and one of the most significant waterfront transformations currently underway anywhere in the world.
