Various chemicals are emitted from building and interior decoration materials into indoor air. The aim of the voluntary emission classification is to enhance the development and use of low emitting building materials, which contribute to the creation of healthier interiors.
Stora Enso’s laminated veneer lumber (LVL) has received M1 classification, which stands for low emissions. The classification divides building materials into three categories of which M1 is the best. M1 label tells that the product has been tested in an independent and impartial laboratory, and it has fulfilled the specified criteria at the age of 4 weeks.
Emission Classification is product-specific and granted by the Finnish Building Information Foundation RTS.
