Use the natural reinforcement of wood fibres in combination of mouldability of plastics. With wood fibres there is no need to design stiffness which allows you to focus on the form. Proven to work even for demanding products such as chairs, legs and racks. The strength properties are comparable with many glass fibre reinforced plastics.

Biocomposites offer great design freedom. You can injection mold, 3D-print and extrude; furniture and interior parts and products. The specific properties of wood fibres gives you the possibility to handle a greater span of product thicknesses in the mould, which in turns creates better design freedom vs. e.g. polypropylene.

Is sustainability high on your agenda? We offer fully bio-based formulations and solutions with both industrial and post-consumer recycled plastics. The wood fibres also acts as a reinforcement to recycled plastics, making post-consumer waste a possibility and expanding the property space.

The visible fibers and a matte finish gives your trays a natural touch. The visible fibres are also a great way to communicate its real sustainability gains to consumers.
With a great-looking natural (light-caramel) color, it can easily be coloured to the colour of your choice with most masterbatches.

The material is well-tested in furniture. Some of our grades have been tested according to the EN16139 standard – strength, durability and safety testing for non-domestic seating, successfully.

Our material is excellent for re-use and for those wishing to support the business model with take back of old furniture, Stora Enso can support with re-processing.

All DuraSense® products are based on FSC® certified wood. PEFC® certification is optional.
