Imagine an affordable way to go green

The DuraSense® portfolio for injection moulding offers a great variation of materials dependent on customer preferences and product demands. Thermoplastic injection moulding is the most common way to manufacture parts. Thermoplastics can be repeatedly molten or softened by heating and solified by cooling. Many different end-uses include toys, industrial components, packaging, home appliances, electrical appliances, among others.

When are biocomposites a good choice?

Rigid materials

Most suitable for rigid materials.

Smart designs

Smart product design allows for higher fiber content. Thick-walled products can generally handle higher fiber loads.


The natural colour of wood fibers is caramel, hence transparent products are not possible to produce.

Walls above 0.8 mm

Minimum wall-thickness of at least 0.8 mm. Required wall thickness dependent on product geometry. For thin-walled applications (below 1 mm) master batching is suitable.

DuraSense® Pure

When cost performance is the key driver. Excellent cost-to-sustainability ratio.

  • 30-60% wood fibers and virgin polymer
  • Most grades are food contact approved
  • Suitable for products with basic demands and thicker walls
  • Masterbatch option exists


DuraSense® Plus

For applications with high property demands

  • 30-60% wood fibers and virgin polymer
  • Most grades are food contact approved
  • For products requiring impact strength and formability

DuraSense® Prime

Materials with the ability to replace engineered plastic materials such as PPGF and PA

  • 30-50% wood fibers and virgin polymers
  • High impact with retained stiffness and strength
  • Suitable alternative for demanding applications

DuraSense® Recycled

A recycled based solution for minimal environmental footprint

  • 30-50% wood fibers and recycled fossil-based polymer
  • Recycled polymers with different properties and price classes to choose from
  • Colourability limitations.
  • Generally weaker properties compared to DuraSense® based on virgin polymer
  • Recycled, based on post-consumer plastics are only offered with properties similar to DuraSense® Plus

DuraSense® Eco

A bio-based solution for minimal environmental footprint

  • Material with close to 100% bio-based content
  • Combining wood fibers with a bio-based polymer improves cost of bio-based material
  • Property space varies depending on bio-based polymer used
  • Possible polymers are bio-based PP or PE
  • Most grades are food contact approved


DuraSense® White

When demanding a white result and minimal scent

  • 30-35% wood fibers and fossil-based polymer
  • Excellent haptics
  • Good colourability
  • Redolent
  • Food contact approval pending
