Stakeholder bulletin regarding child labour in Pakistan

The Swedish Veckans Affärer magazine on 6 March and TV4 Kalla fakta (Cold Facts) programme on 9 March will cast a negative light on Bulleh Shah Packaging operations in Pakistan. Bulleh Shah Packaging was formed in Pakistan in May 2013 as a joint venture with our partner Packages Ltd. Stora Enso is currently a minority shareholder in this joint venture, owning 35% of the equity.

The media reporting will focus on the issue of child labour in the waste paper supply network, suggesting that Stora Enso has not admitted the existence of the problem in Bulleh Shah or properly addressed it. We would like to clarify how we view child labour in Pakistan and work to mitigate it.
