Stora Enso will contribute to the sustainability and circularity of this large-scale sports event and showcase renewable and recyclable solutions in numerous applications. The Nordic World Ski Championships in south-west Germany is an excellent opportunity for Stora Enso to be present close to its main markets.
"We are excited to be the main sponsor of the Nordic World Ski Championships in Oberstdorf. This gives us the opportunity to increase the awareness of the benefits with renewable products made from wood. Together with the local Oberstdorf organising committee we aim to make the Nordic World Ski Championships a top sustainability event in all aspects", says Annica Bresky, President and CEO, Stora Enso.
Employee involvement and customer engagement are also in focus during the sponsorship. Activities such as health campaign for employees and customer events will be arranged.
Stora Enso will have a volunteer team of 40 employees on site in Oberstdorf 2021. They will be ambassadors in expo stands in the arenas and tell the companies renewability story to the sport audience during the Ski Championships.
Oberstdorf 2021 marks the fourth time Stora Enso will be sponsoring the Nordic World Ski Championships, having served as presenting sponsor for the 2019 event in Seefeld, Austria, and 2017 in Lahti, Finland, as well as being the main sponsor in Falun, Sweden in 2015.
